Things to do in Chongqing

Choose Chongqing experiences by interest: river views, neighbourhood walks, museums, food and excursions beyond the city.

River views and city evenings

Start with Jiefangbei, then choose between Hongya Cave and Chaotianmen for your evening. Leave room to stop for dinner instead of scheduling several distant viewpoints. An evening photograph and a relaxed walk need different amounts of time.

Streets, courtyards and local history

Give Huguang Assembly Hall time of its own, or pair it with a shorter riverfront walk. Longmenhao works as a change of perspective across the river. Treat Ciqikou as a separate outing so that its shops and lanes do not become a rushed stop between transfers.

Museums and family choices

The Three Gorges Museum introduces regional history; the Chongqing Art Museum offers an art-focused alternative near Jiefangbei. Chongqing Zoo may interest families and panda enthusiasts. Match each choice to the people travelling, and check the venue’s current admission arrangements before setting your day.

A day beyond the centre

Choose Dazu for carved religious art or Wulong for karst landscapes. Keep the transport and walking requirements visible in your plan; neither should be treated as a quick city stop.
