Three days in Chongqing

Spend three full days exploring Chongqing’s neighbourhoods, river views and cultural sights, with a flexible final day.

Three sightseeing days, plus arrival and departure

Use this plan when you have three full days available. It differs from a four-calendar-day tour that includes arrival and departure. Keep travel connections and hotel transfers separate when comparing the two.

Day one: Jiefangbei and the rivers

Begin around Jiefangbei. Choose Huguang Assembly Hall or the Art Museum as your main daytime visit. Leave the evening for dinner and Hongya Cave, with Chaotianmen as an alternative rather than a compulsory extra stop.

Day two: history and a different perspective

Give the Three Gorges Museum a substantial part of the day. Later, consider Longmenhao if you want a neighbourhood walk and another river perspective. Check admission arrangements and the transfer before fixing the order.

Day three: choose your priority

Make Ciqikou the focus of a slower day, or consider Chongqing Zoo if pandas are a particular interest. Leave room for a longer meal or a missed stop from the previous days. Do not turn every alternative into an additional obligation.

Adapt the route

Swap the cultural day with an outdoor day if the weather calls for it. Read our food guide and transport notes before finalising your choices. For a regional excursion, compare the four-day plan or Wulong guide.
