Two days in Chongqing

A focused plan for two full sightseeing days: central Chongqing, a cultural stop and an evening by the rivers.

In this guide4 sections

Before you start

This plan assumes two full days in the city. If you arrive late or leave early, remove a stop instead of treating those hours as available sightseeing time. Keep arrival transport separate from the main schedule.

Day one: the central peninsula

Begin around Jiefangbei and choose either the Art Museum or Huguang Assembly Hall according to your interests and current admission arrangements. Keep the afternoon flexible for a neighbourhood walk. Finish with dinner and Hongya Cave or Chaotianmen; choose one main evening view.

Day two: one slower outing

Choose the Three Gorges Museum if regional history appeals to you, or make Ciqikou your principal outing. Add Longmenhao only if the transfer and remaining time suit your pace. If departure is today, leave a buffer rather than adding another district.

What to leave for another visit

This city plan does not include Wulong or Dazu. If either is essential, extend the trip or replace a city day after comparing the full journey. See the three-day and four-day alternatives.

Ask us to adapt the plan around your arrival, walking needs and preferred evening experiences.
